Long Beach

Man, my kids love the beach.
Really, what's not to love?

Digging.

Building sand fortresses with friends.

Playing in the waves...

and sun.

I love little sandy feet.

and even big sandy feet!

My kids think I'm weird for this, but I think little sandy bums are the best!
I guess I just have a thing for sand.

Little girls who bury themselves when siblings won't.

The kids love collecting shells and guessing which animal they came from, finding hermit crabs, baby jellyfish, etc.

Emily & Jacob even found two shark eggs.
(Which I didn't believe were shark eggs, until we saw the same one's at the aquarium
- way to go Emy for knowing that!)

What's not to love about kelp?

Watching Jane chase seagulls is pure joy.

And they just LOVE climbing on the rocks (until the lifeguards tell them to get down.)

When we're all tired, sandy and windblown, we go home.

Isn't she beautiful - even after a busy day at the beach.

These kids are fantastic!

That looks like a lovely day out. So glad there is some sunshine in the world - we aren't getting too much of it here!

I'm with you on that, Tania. I NEED to feel the sand under my feet every once in a while, even if it's isn't a particularly hot day. There's something about the beach. Unfortunately, my two don't share my enthusiasm!

I love the beach too. It looks like Jane enjoys chasing the seagulls as much as Darwin.

Wow, maybe we take it for granted here, but you are REALLY enthusiastic about the beach! I just like to put my towel down and lie on it and if I started taking pitures of my boys sandy bums, they would disown me!! I guess a lot changesd from childhood to young adulthood! Looks like you had a great Summer! Our Winter has just ended and not a day too soon!
